Publisher's Note

First things first, I want to thank you for reading this magazine.  We have been working at this for some time.  In the beginning it was to be a source for Mid-lifers – midLifeCool.

Over the last decade I was called to walk through health challenges with multiple friends and family members that faced some of the most difficult times in their lives. Though some were up against life threatening illnesses and surgeries, others needed a voice to advocate for them during times of confusion.  I decided my efforts were to go beyond how to keep Cool in your mid-life and broaden my reach.

We all need to be more proactive in our Life Care Plan and note each and every memorable moment, health opportunity and then document important facts which will aide us or our loved ones later in life.

I am happy to present Cool Care Connections.  This website is to be easy to navigate and provide you with as much info as our team can research, gather and post for your use.

Please note that we will be adding and updating regularly and ask that you visit often and tell your Cool circle of friends, co-workers and family members.

My career path has taken me down various avenues which all have helped me to secure a future in helping those with their Life Care needs.  Whether I am advocating, supporting a Guardian, promoting important end of life programs or just being there for someone, it is my BEST work – my passion work.

The years of personal experience led me in the direction of caring for those that needed a voice, following through on health care needs while allowing the loved one to stay engaged in their life.

A born coordinator, with a love for research, writing and creating special events – I now find myself connecting those in need with current information, trends and affiliates that can support them.

Keeping the Quality in all Life Care is what is important.  Please contact us and share any questions, ideas or items of interest with the Cool Care Team.

Again I thank you for being a part of this important journey in Life Care.

My life is filled with the joys of motherhood, a dear family and blessings of a marriage built on faith.

Having a career path in Education for 32 years offered me many chances to share knowledge, listen and build patience.  Now I find myself handling the opportunities in my family and with those surrounding me that deal with death, stroke, ongoing cancer and lifestyle disabilities.

With the myriad of healthcare decisions, needs and wants, as well as final arrangements they all need to be considered, discussed and arrangements made with sensitivity to the loved one.   As a teacher we do lesson plans, as a health care surrogate you help to determine care plans.

Kim and Cool Care Connections has been invaluable in assisting our family with these matters.  She has helped us keep “cool and caring” heads about all of it.  She approaches topics with the care of a family member, but is a professional with new and helpful information.

Cool Care Connections can be trusted to deliver just what you and your family may need to know.

I encourage you to explore this website, read its articles and click on its links.  Hopefully, this website will benefit many people now who need to prepare for future trying circumstances and to do so in a calm, thorough and caring way!
